So here’s a little update on my life from June to the present. I got my first car in June ’08. I loved her so much we called her ” betty the jetty”

I drove her all over and everywhere during the summer until October 27th when an absent minded BCC student totaled my jetta obviously we now went from three cars down to two. Then this morning, I woke up to my mom explaining to me that my dad’s work truck was stolen from our driveway last night. Now in the first moments of my morning I did not know what to think, but later in my day it dawned on my the necessity of praying God’s protection over my belongings and family. The ironic side of the story is that I was unable to sleep most of the night until 2am and I could’ve been awake when the whole situation happened. All this to say, next time you can’t fall asleep remember to pray over your family and wherever your are sleeping so you too don’t have to know what it’s like to count your belongings backwards hahaha (3-2-1)

Last night as I was winding down my evening, I was flipping through the channels and came upon the movie The Sound of Music (one of my all time personal favorites)! As the movie progressed from Lesal going from SIXTEEN to SEVENTEEN and the children learning to sing DO RE Mi my heart leapt as I began to think of living in a musical

How incredible would it be to just break into song in dance at any moment in your life! Ah. I would absolutely love it. Sining tunes about interns, living with no food, low gas prices, snow snow snow, and the list drones on! Life as a musical would be delightful.

Baggy Is Better!

Today while I was out doing some shopping I couldn’t help myself from being drawn to or picking up oversized clothes….baggy shirts, sweatshirts, scarves, and jackets. I then realized, after trying on my fourth boyfriend style sweater, that I love baggy clothes. Don’t get me wrong a fitted dress and heels are always good but for day to day outfits I love the feeling of floating in my clothes. Dressing for comfort is my motto these days. For me…Baggy is better!

There are so many benefits to baggy clothes. They’re comfortable, you can layer like non other, its easy to put together in the morning, and who wouldn’t want to feel like there in sweats all day long!!!!!! So next time your surfing those racks for the next upcoming fashion trend, just grab yourself a XL sweater and experience how heavenly a baggy top is.

My Obsession.

Tonight I was watching the history of our government and couldn’t help but to think back on my most recent trip….I recently returned from one of my favorite places to travel…Washington DC. I have always had a passion for government and enjoyed listening and learning about politics so you can imagine when i first landed in DC its was like landing in Disney Land. Simply AMAZING!!!! On my last trip back to DC I came across one of the most amazing places in our nation. THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS.

It may sound dull but it is without a doubt the most beautiful pieces of architecture I have ever laid my eyes on. We never planned on going to visit the Library but during our capital tour the alarm went off and we had to evacuate so was had some extra time to kill. So one of my friends decided to take us to the Library and I WAS THRILLED!!!!!! Now in order to actually go into the library its self you have to register and get a Washington DC Library of Congress Card. You’re not suppose to get them unless you’re researchers, so we acted like we were studious students and got our card After wandering the long and winding yellow hallways beneath the streets we found the Main Reading Room. Now before entering you have to turn in any bags and coats to the cloak room, sign your name in a book and show the guard your library card. A process well worth.

I had my earphones in as I entered the room and the most PERFECT song began to play. It was a musical piece from a movie soundtrack the was whimsical and dreamy. I began to fall into a trance as stared up at the dome and was lost in the art and history of the building. I circled the library twice before looking down at anyone or anything. I was immediately in LOVE!!!!!! I started to look up various books and the first alcove I searched for was in the art section where all of Shakespeare’s plays and poems were held. ( He is one of my favorites. I could read his plays all day long) Once I collected a good amount of books I found myself a desk to begin to read. After so time…
I paused.
Looked up.
and was completely overwhelmed by the vastness of knowledge and history that surrounded me, so much so that I began to cry. Now you may think that’s a bit extreme, but all my life I have adored libraries and always found them to be a haven in the midst of our crazy society. So there, in my favorite city, in my favorite place, immersed in the richness of history I could not have helped myself from being a bit emotional. I hope one day you too can have the same experience as I.

This is my moment. This is my Love. This is my Obsession.

I think I can….I think I can!!!!

its christmas break and i’ll be honest the only thing that was on my mind was….well having nothing on my mind at all. haha but its been almost a week and it’s time to kick it into gear and shake off that laziness and BE PRODUCTIVE! everyday all day i have taken it easy, lived the good life, and accomplished little or nothing at all. so today i woke up and decided NO MORE wasting time….i will accomplish my TO DO LIST!!!!

so with the help of a pen and paper i am happy to say that i have been very productive today. completing two loads of laundry, cleaned the kitchen, swept the house, did the dishes and caught up on my favorite show The Amazing Race! so do yourself a favor and pull out your trusty little pad and paper and write yourself a to do list and BE PRODUCTIVE!

one of my favorite things in life is a perfect cup of coffee, its warm and cozy and always hits the spot! forever i have seen people order this drink called a “cappuccino”, but up until a couple nights ago i had never thought of ordering one for myself! it being the holidays i thought it was a perfect time to try something new! so sitting there with the family on christmas eve eating dinner i ordered one French Vanilla Cappuccino…..and OH MY GOODNESS it is amazing! its is my newest discovery and newest love! i recommend everyone to try one. now in case you’re wondering what exactly a cappuccino is….its a lattee with extra extra foam sounds simple but tastes incredible. so while you’re out today stop by starbucks and proudly order ” one vanilla cappy PLEASE!!” i promise it’ll make your day

mmmmm well its christmas eve and im sitting next to my beautiful christmas tree (that i didn’t help decorate for the first time ever this year) and watch an old movie with my dad and i can’t help but wish i was in hawaii with my family. its the first time in years that i will be having a WHITE CHRISTMAS but without all my cousins it just doesn’t seem right.

ahhh well times up.
